2010 Fashion Week for Fall 2010 left us with an insight as to which trends are going to be popular for the fall. For some of these trends cold weather is needed, but there are a few we can start wearing today!

1) Full Minis- Last season the tight, bandage mini skirts were all the rage, but this fall the full mini will rule! This look is softer and more accessible to all women. Diane von Furstenberg’s fall collection showcased a gorgeous metallic tiered mini that sat lower on the hips with a full voluminous skirt.

2) Statement Knits- The chunkier the knit, the better! The sweaters for the fall are soft and handcrafted to evoke a unique look. There will be patterns and different colors weaved together to create showstopping looks. The best part about this trend is that you can layer a chunky sweater over a spring dress to transition into the spring.

3) Ladylike Bags- Smaller, structured handbags will be popular when the fall rolls around. For now, feel free to wear out your big hobo bag for the spring! The trend is moving towards a smaller bag that has a top handle for carrying instead of a shoulder strap.

4) Leather Dresses- Leather dresses for the fall will be the complete opposite of the rocker-chic looks we have been seeing recently. These dresses are more demure and sophisticated. A lot of the runway shows were pairing turtlenecks underneath a leather dress. It’s the perfect little day dress!

5) Thigh-high Socks- These socks are definitely for the trendsetter. Just like leggings and tights, they emphasize the legs. Try textured socks in different colors to emulate your favorite girl from Gossip Girl! These socks are a great way to update your look for fall.

6) Touches of Fur- Fur or faux fur embellishments are going to be everywhere! Fur touches on jackets, sweaters, and boots is a great touch for embracing the cold fall weather!
