Wedding Tips – Where to Start?

So you have your budget established. Great! Now, what is the next most important thing to do? With this bit of advice, I’m going to stray from what conventional sources would say. They say that the most important thing is the hall – because they tend to book pretty far in advance. Now, the hall may be the most important, but that is up to you to decide.

The three things which, in my opinion, are the most important are the hall, the church and the date. You should choose one of these to be the most important.

Why might the hall be the most important? Like I mentioned before, they book pretty far in advance, and you will likely spend the majority of your money here on food and beverage. So, if you’re flexible on the date and church – go and get your hall! There are many out there, and you’ll want to find the perfect one ASAP, and have your church and date work around that hall.

But perhaps you and your fiancé met in college and you want to get married in the beautiful chapel on campus. Or, you want to get married in the same church your parents got married in. Whatever your reason, the church might be more important than the hall to you, so you should choose that, too. You want to make sure that, if the church is the most important piece, that you get that lined up first.

Or, the date might be the most important. You want to get married on Valentines Day, or on the anniversary of your first kiss or something like that. If that is the most important, then set the date. You will simply have to find a hall and a church which are available for your date.

I will make the caveat, though, that if you choose the date to be the most important, and it is less than 12 months away, you may have to settle for less than your first choice on the hall. Many halls book up a year in advance, especially in the busy months from May through October. Keep that in mind!
