No way you get to use that Cardinal's game as litmus for how the Saints offense can perform against the Colts. The Cardinals defense didn't show up for the Green Bay game and they apparently didn't think to show for the Saints either.

And while the Colts are definitely not a defensive powerhouse they're no slouch either as I believe they're averaging under 20 ppg allowed. Freeney will not be the guy we saw all season causing havok but don't forget about Mathis on the other end. The Colts can bring pressure.

By the way I cannot tell you how surreal it is sitting here talking football and a mere inch away is a link to the previous post about Nicole Richie launching her winter fashion line. It must be Friday, someone pass me a beer...

I don't know, Mike, with the exception of the Vikings the Saints had the highest powered offense this year. They hung up 45 points against the Cardinals 3rd ranked defense, and let's not pretend that the Colts are any type of defensive juggernaut. Even if Freeney plays, he'll be severely limited which takes considerable pressure off of Brees.

The Saints have the deepest group of talented WRs in the NFL, and there is no way the Colts D will be able to shut them all down. I'm not 100% confident the Saints will win, but I'm very confident in their ability to put points on the board.

BTW, that is really bad-ass about your Dad.

35-31 huh.... I really don't expect it to be that close. The Vikings commit 5 or 6 turnovers and still should have won the game. That game exposed too many weaknesses in the Saints offense - a less then stellar pass defense for Minnesota still held the saints to less than 250 passing yards. I just don't see the Saints running up 30+ points in this game against the Colts.

Last I heard however Freeney is still listed as questionable and that's a big ? if the Colts are looking to put the pressure on Brees.

I too see the Colts coming away with another trophy and once again MVP honors for the man at the helm.

On a side note, Mike... I feel your pain. While my passion is soccer I married into the NFL as my father in law started for the Raiders for 10 years (even has a super bowl ring) so I obviously adopted the Raiders as my team. I know your woes but at least you have hope in a young QB with an arm as well as some time this offseason for your young players to get into a groove. The Raiders...well we have Jamarcus Russell and a first round pick in Heyward Bey who at some point forgot the goal of a receiver is to catch the football.

Gotta go with the Saints on this one. They haven't just beat teams this season, they've BEAT teams this season. And no city deserves it more.

I'm a Pats fan living in San Diego and for the 1st time even before the season I felt the Chargers could finally bring a championship here to San Diego - only other ones of any signifigance is the AFL one they won in 1963 and the recent Little League World Series.

I saw the leadership decline in the Patriots, which was its championship foundation, while the Chargers look to me like the former Patriots Super Bowl teams but more athletic.

Combine this with the fact Norv Turner hasn't made a bone headed coaching decision all year and seems to have a good grip on the team, The Chargers should beat the Saints in Miami 42-24.
